In Preparation of 2024's End
Stand Back - Doors Closing.
So this is kind of a weird thing. For a while, I was using a static site generator, which I typically do not have a huge problem with, but I became pretty annoyed with it this year. If things get messy, I'll revert to another SSG, but in the meantime, this is the home of new writings.
For those who are maybe new to me or what I do, I am your neurotic writer Katerina. You may call me Kat. I mostly write about things I'm doing and observations about the political and technical environments. I'm also incredibly foul-mouthed, but I try to keep the cursing level low. I may fail in that regard, depending.
The horrors persist...
In the long time where I didn't really write anything meaningful, several things have occurred that warrant a response. Those of you who know me know that I don't like filling the air with pointless words.
So you already know what has occurred from June to Now.
For a while, I needed to heal. That healing is still being done, but I am now ready, I believe, to continue fighting.
... but I will keep fighting
As a trans woman, I realize the work never stops. The sheer difficulty of the task continues to be overloading, somewhat. I believe the road ahead will continue to be absolutely brutal and painfully difficult, but I'm done rotting just so some cruel politicians can try to erase our existence. We existed long before these horrendous politics, and we'll be here long after they're gone.
Survive+Thrive.
If I can summarize how I want to run this thing, I really want to be a dosage of sanity in the sea of misery. I cannot guarantee this is the case overall, and I certainly cannot be described as a journalist. The tricky thing about running one of these is being able to be referenced and still have some degree of personality. I want to show my humanity through my writings. This is kind of my outlet for my activism work as well.
I don't know if I'll have any meaningful insight that can be appreciated, but I have gotten the impression that my perspective matters too, so I figure this is probably a pretty good way to do it.
How I handle feedback
I am imploring the local internet populace to please give constructive feedback wherever it's warranted, which is pretty much any informational post. I want to get it right, and having some degree of accountability is helpful as well. I seek understanding and information, so learning is part of this journey for me as well.
Stand your ground, Hold your color ❤️
Let's see how this shakes out
